In 1983, Gustavo Ganem began working in the flooring industry as an independent contractor doing small jobs and projects under the name Sun Carpets.
In just a few years, Gustavo had established himself in the industry through honest and reliable work. Soon, he made the shift from an independent contractor to business owner after beginning steady work in the multi-family industry.
For the next 25 years, Sun Carpets became one of the most renowned names in the multi-family industry here in El Paso, Texas. This reputation continued to be that of a dedicated business and industry leader.
In 2004, Gustavo’s youngest son, Alex, started working in the business. The following year, his older brother, Gus Jr. joined and both got to work building a commercial division for larger projects.
Today, they continue to work together, and the business has steadily grown from a small garage and storage unit to a 30,000 square foot warehouse with 15 employees.
We strive to deliver an honest contracting experience for our customers. The customer experience here is designed to make you feel like you are still calling a friend to help you service your property.
Although our focus is on building relationships in the multi-family industry and commercial construction business, we still like to accept walk-ins. Our expertise is here for the community and we like to do what we can to help people make the best decisions for their homes.
This business has grown since the first flooring was ever laid in 1983 along with El Paso. We have big plans to continue to grow and be part of the growing El Paso community.
Our philanthropic projects have extended to La Nube, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Femap Foundation, Leadership El Paso, among many others.
It has been a great pleasure to give back to the community that gave us so much. We are committed to giving more to the city of El Paso in thanks for giving this immigrant family a solid American future.
Our values are tied closely to our principles in business. Be honest, be forthright, and follow through. The examples are clear in our everyday service. Whether it’s a client or vendor, we like to build strong relationships with both to better our product for the community.
